A 2017 Maserati Levante was reported missing Sunday, March 31, from the 60 block of River Road, and has not been recovered. The owner could not remember if the spare set of keys were in the vehicle, said Lt. John Slusarz.

The day before, another luxury car, a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 was stolen from a home on Old Orchard Road. The keys were inside, Slusarz said.

"My message to residents remains the same," said Slusarz. "Let's not make this easy for thieves. Lock your car, remove all valuables, and remove the keys."

The latest two thefts are part of a pattern of thefts throughout the area. In January a Range Rover and Mercedes were stolen in Greenwich.

From Jan. 1, 2017 to Jan. 1, 2018, 79 vehicles were stolen in Greenwich, Slusarz said. That's double the number from the same time frame the year before.

According to Slusarz, there is a group of thieves that move between the Greenwich, New Canaan, Bridgefield and Westchester County, areas checking for vehicles that are unlocked and may have keys inside.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Greenwich Police Department at 203-622-8000.
